Fresh Strawberry Salsa

Serves 6


  • 3 cups (750 ml) fresh strawberries, stem removed and chopped (any produce vendor)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) finely chopped red onion (any produce vendor)
  • 1 serrano pepper, finely chopped, seeded if you prefer less heat (South China Seas Trading Co.)
  • Zest of 1 lime (any produce vendor)
  • Juice of 2 limes (any produce vendor)
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) wildflower honey (Chilliwack River Valley Natural Honey Ltd)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) chopped fresh cilantro leaves (any produce vendor)
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) chopped fresh mint leaves (any produce vendor)
  • Pinch of salt

  1. In a large bowl stir together all ingredients until well combined. Set aside at room temperature for 20 minutes, allowing the flavours to meld, before serving.
